I am here – I am self-love

Self-love is not a new concept to me, per se, but I may not have been the best practitioner of it, despite knowing its worth.

However, recent teachings have given it a new and profound significance in my life.

To my understanding now, having self-love is the precursor for anything else I, or any of us, could want: health, joy, peace, abundance, love… the list could go on. (And will, below).

But before I get to my self-love focus, let me address a quick question: why the quotes around “selfish” in the title of this blog?

I was guided to write it this way because there is a misconception about what it is to be selfish. I won’t go on and on about it, that might be better for another post…

To sum it up, the word selfish has been given a bad connotation. Meaning that when people hear the word or use the word they think that being selfish is bad and that it is something to avoid rather than to be.

However, to flip the energy, what is the difference between being selfish and having self-love? To be “selfish” is to take care of oneself in the ways that makes one feel better, right? Isn’t that just self-love?

So it’s ok to be selfish! Though personally I try to do this without it being at the expense of others.

Ok, enough about that. On to self-love!

Oops, First a Big Thank You to Jarrad Hewett

The reason I have found new significance to the idea of self-love is thanks to Jarrad Hewett and the words of his guides in his book “Love, Life, and God.”

I won’t give it all away, that’s for him to do, but it really made me think that claiming self-love can and will be a major energetic movement in beginning to be, do, and have everything that I want. That’s the gist of it that I’ve gotten so far.

I recently participated in a 21 day class with Jarrad, in which an initial email offered many audio journeys and guided meditations. I also spent a lot of time on the member site blogging with other conscious creators who are working through their own kinks in energy. The focus was largely around money, but it was inclusive of all creation and self-improvement, you could say.

It’s kind of funny to me now that it is after the class has ended that I have found the juiciest lessons given to me. They were at the end of that first email! I just busied myself taking each mediation in slowly, step-by-step, and and only now got to the best stuff.

I won’t steal Jarrad’s thunder or give away the teachings, but I will suggest to those who are interested to check out these two of my favorite things he offered: The Creation Formula as well as “Love, Life, and God.” The latter I am enjoying as an audio book and it’s actually quite effective that way. And it is mind-blowing. Even if many of the concepts have come to me in various ways prior. Some, certainly not all… It’s just put in a way that is transforming my consciousness now more than ever.

Ok, really, the heart of this post…

I began with the initial impulse to list claims, than was led to search and use the most uplifting claims I could find on this following page full of ‘self-‘ words:

https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Category:English_words_prefixed_with_self-

Wow, the English language is really quite selfish. Just look at how many words there are on that list!

(Do be mindful of the negative claims. Be especially careful under ‘D’…)

Thank you for reading this and I hope the words have infused more energy behind the idea of Self-Love.

Please comment with other input on self-love claims, or share with those who need some self-love of their own.

Many blessings to you all,

Matthew
