Enter Ramelan’s garden, his only refuge from the monotony of his aeons-long task of tending the souls in the underworld. And after a decade in death, Ramelan has returned with new music.
Ramelan is the god of the dead, and hell is his home. But his heart is that of a poet and an artist. In that regard he is like me, his author.
In this garden, full of rotting flowers and the wails of the death willow, Ramelan writes songs on his desert bass. He sings about his duties, of a growing evil in his world, and of his love for a mortal queen.
Ramelan’s music is performed by Matthew Rondeau on bass, vocals and foot percussion; Loren Leventer on violin; and Tony Parra on drums and percussion.
The five groundbreaking songs on “Enter the Garden” were only the beginning for Ramelan’s songwriting days. He would soon follow with Part One of a much grander story in his Ramelan Trilogy, fully written but unfinished.
