God of the Dead

Naknin Desert region, Paelstor

In another world full of magic and mythery lives one character who has reached out from beyond to sing his songs to me.

Ramelan, God of the Dead, who tends to the passing of those who die, leads them to the underworld, and judges the weight of their souls to determine where they go next.

Yet even though this is Ramelan’s given task, his discontent has reached a height after aeons of the same old drudgery.

So he builds a sanctuary, a garden in hell, though nothing more than rotting flowers take root in the burning soils. (“Enter the Garden”)

Still, he finds the peace he can and writes songs, creates music.

And now I, Matthew, the mortal author of the character, share those songs.
