The Gnome Went for a Walk
The little gnome
Got up and stretched
Grabbed his glasses
And fetched
A little pail
A walking stick
A curled up rope
And brick
He left his house
Went up the hill
Into the woods
Until
He found a lake
Dropped all his gear
Sat on the ground
With cheer
He tied the rope
Onto the pail
Then to the stick
With nail
Into the pail
Hung by the rope
He placed the brick
With hope
Cast in the lake
The pail with brick
Hung by the rope
And stick
It filled with water
And cracked the stick
Sunk pail and brick
And quick
The little gnome
Laughed off his test
He went back home
To rest
And plan the things
He’d need for his
New invention
Which is
A special tool
For those who need
A special way
To feed
The little fish
That live below
The little lake
And grow
Into flowers
That rise above
The little lake
With love
The flower fish
Liked living low
Deep in the lake
Although
They liked it more
When up they rise
To the surface
And skies
To see the sun
And feel the breeze
Show their faces
With ease
The little gnome
Loved flower fish
He smelled them with
A wish
To always see
Their bright petals
Into calm he
Settles
The little gnome
Who had a quest
To find a way
To rest
