Introducing my new mini-series. Instead of the old Wild Card Day, this will be a space for building character profiles for my novels. Now to my first profile, my MC, my protagonist.
Projections As Witness To Your Past
Picture a projector running a film. This projector is in your mind. The film is your past. What do you see. We all have this projector. We call it memory. We believe it serves us well, and in many ways it does. We remember how to tie our shoes, so we can easily perform that task again and again.
The Fear Grid, Part 4
But Purity was far more concerned by what the woman had run from. With extreme trepidation, she looked overhead where the clerk had fixed her gaze, trying to see what was there above her head…
Witch Town, Part 3
It was those awful soldiers! The light warriors. They wore shiny, white suits of armor and shining white swords. Scared me and my girls right out of our stockings. They started melting the whole school with their bright light! We picked up our broomsticks and made our escape. There were too many of them. Woe is me!
Making Magnificent Mansions of the Mind
If your mind were a home, then I would really imagine it as a mansion. Not in the sense of it being luxurious and expensive, but simply in how large and vast it is, how many rooms it contains. Your mind contains a room for everything you have experienced in life, everything you have learned, all the relationships you’ve had, all the skills and interests you’ve put attention to. And the more time you build each room, the bigger it can become, the longer lived it can be, and the more attention it can get.
The Mountain in the Clouds, Part 18
The water cascaded off the rock face maybe twenty meters overhead. It shot forth into the air, free as free can be. It glimmered in the moonlight as it tumbled down the long drop. Mist and spritz and spray bellowed forth from the fall like a bubbling, spitting thing. Now to make my way to the top.
